Have your say

Community consultation

We have so far run two rounds of engagement for the future of Sir John Moore Barracks and have two more for residents to look out for. In the meantime, we welcome your thoughts on how the masterplan for the site should be developed.

We are committed to ensuring that our programme is as inclusive as possible, seeking input and feedback from across the whole community, including both existing and future neighbouring residents, prospective residents, local businesses and community groups.

You can tell us your views in two ways – by adding comments to our interactive map or by completing our online survey.

Stage 1 Consultation – Vision Statement & Design Principles

November 2023

In autumn last year, we launched the first stage of our four-stage consultation programme. This first stage focused on gathering feedback on our revised vision and development principles, as well as welcoming further ideas and feedback on the site and how it best fits in with and support the surrounding context. We are grateful to those who took the time to provide feedback via our website, speak to us at Winchester Market and attend our two consultation events held at Littleton Memorial Hall and the Henry Beaufort School in early November.

Stage 2 Consultation – Community Workshops

December 2023

The community workshops held as part of the second round of consultation and engagement in December encouraged further constructive, thoughtful and productive in-depth discussion on key topic areas of:

  • History and heritage
  • Context and site constraints
  • Climate resilience and sustainability
  • People and community

All feedback received throughout the first two stages of consultation will be considered as we begin to form the concept masterplan over the coming months.
