Primary school pupils invited to design a logo for the Sir John Moore Barracks redevelopment
Local primary school pupils are being given the opportunity to help shape the identity of the Sir John Moore Barracks redevelopment through a dedicated logo design competition.
The competition invites children from nearby schools to create a logo that reflects the site’s heritage, community character, and future vision. The winning design will be developed into a professional logo and used on future materials for the site as proposals for the outline planning application come forward later this year.
This initiative is part of the project team’s continued commitment to involving the local community from the earliest stages, and gives younger residents a creative way to take part in the transformation of the site.
Entries are being coordinated directly through participating schools, and the winning design will be announced ahead of the fourth stage of engagement and consultation in early autumn 2025.

Over the coming months, we will be undertaking a comprehensive and transparent three stage consultation programme, reviewing all feedback received throughout, and where possible, incorporating this into the final proposals prior to submitting an application to Winchester City Council.
